ABOUT THE AUTHOR KS Ludra

Lt Col Ludra was commissioned into the Army in Artillery in 1954 and retired in June 1986. During his service, he was keen in reading military history books and wrote various papers which were published in military journals. He did active service in North east India, Nagaland and J&K. After retirement, he wrote an interesting book on “ Understanding war and its implications and Effects” which was published in 1988. Later on he established Institute for Strategic Research and analysis of which he became a Director. He also became a publisher of his own books and had written 21 books on military matters and strategy when he died in early 2008.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rajendra Nath

Maj Gen Rajendra Nath PVSM (Retd.), the editor of the book, is a well-known military analyst. He has written two books while over 130 articles have been published in newspapers and military magazines. His book “Military Leadership in India: Vedic Period to Indo-Pak Wars” has been well received in military circles. All the universities in India, where the subject of Defence and Strategic Studies is being taught, have also prescribed it.
