Chinubhai was an eminent chartered accountant, dedicated patriot and true professional. He was the founder and senior partner of C.C. Chokshi & Co, commencing his practice in the year 1940. during his lifetime, he made valuable contributions to his profession of chartered accountancy, in the field of education, culture, religion and sport. Chinubhai actively participated in the freedom struggle by being part of the historic Dandi March in 1930 and the Quit India Movement. This caused a break in his academic and professional career as he was imprisoned more than once. When he once again turned his attention to his work, his firm C.C. Chokshi and Co. would see unprecedented success and attain much glory. Chinubhai adorned the highest office in the profession when he became the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1959. He also served on the Central Board of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, Company Law Advisory Commission, Indian Merchants Chamber and FICCI, and was chairman of the Direct Laws Committee known as the Chokshi Committee. He actively supported equestrian sports and inculcated that same passion for sports and animals in his family. Chinubhai was deeply respected by his family and colleagues who took his advice on all matters personal and professional. He was a great philanthropist, he lived by the Gita and till his last days followed the tenets of honesty, integrity, truth and sincerity as expounded by Mahatma Gandhi.
