Foreign Aid in India: Effectiveness and Policy is an attempt to examine the effectiveness of foreign aid utilized in India through its impact on the development of various sectors of the economy, especially on which it has been utilized and also on the whole economy, since 1970. For this purpose, a detailed analysis of the source-wise and purpose-wise utilization of the same has been carried out along with the estimation of ‘grant element’ implicit in the loans, both with and without incorporating exchange rate variations in Rupee, obtained from multilateral as well as bilateral sources, to assess the real worth of utilized foreign aid in India.
