Like politics, public policies are unescapable and so are its consequences. Policies play a vital role in shaping and re-shaping the lies of the people in a given political structure. Public Policies are the focal point of politics in political system. Policies are the goals or purposes of government programmes. It does include the implementation of intentions and rules. It can be termed explicitly in rules or implicitly in actions and schedules. Normally, public policies, are the governmental rules and programmes, considered individually or collectively, that is, the authoritative decisional output of the political system. Public Policies are expressed in a variety of forms including laws, local ordinances, court decisions, executive orders etc. Policy making process is a part of politics and political action. The power, control, bargaining and gaming concepts have an important role in the enactment of public policies.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.B. Rathod

Dr. P.B. Rathod (born on May 5, 1958) has consistently good academic record. He did his B.A. from Karnatak University Dharwad in 1980 and M.A. (Political Science) from Gulbarga University Gulbarga (Karnataka)in 01982. He also did his Ph.D. from Gulbarga University in 1998. On Development Administration. He is continuously engaged in research pursuits. His several research Papers/ Articles have also been Published in reputed Journals. He is a life member of the Indian Institute of Public Administration New Delhi. He has actively participated in various seminars, workshops and summer institute. Presently he is one of the staff of the Post-graduate Department of Political Science Gulbarga University. He has 16 years of teaching experience of M.A. classes.
