‘Fundamentals of Indian Society’, is a book with some new approaches to the study of Indian Society. The book highlights various aspects of Indian socio-cultural milieu concisely right from the Vedic Age to the Modern period. It encompasses various aspects of Indian society including its culture. The variegated socio-cultural pattern of Indian Society has been highlighted systematically right form the Ancient period to the Modern Age in different chapters. The book consists of eight chapters wherein the formation, growth and development of Indian society and its multifarious cultural pattern is reflected with various changes of developments.
However, an attempt has been made to highlight the basic frame-work of Indian multifaceted society and its glorious civilization and magnificent culture including the population structure, language and religious, it is expected that the book will provide at least some basic ideas to the individuals who wants to know about the Indian society and culture.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kasim Ali Ahmed
Dr. Kasim Ali Ahmed, born at Krishnai in Goalpara District of Assam, obtained his M.A. degree in Assamese (specialization in Language0 from the Gauhati University. He was awarded Ph. D. Degree by the Gauhati University in 1995, on the subject – ‘A study of the Folk Culture of the Muslims of Western Assam with special reference to the Muslims of Habraghat area of Goalpara District’. Dr. Ahmed is associated with a number of organization including the Asom Sahitya Sabha, Goalpara Branch, North East Indian History Association, and Assam College Principals Council. He was written a good number of research papers and articles both in English and Assamese, which have been published in different Newspapers, Journals, Souvenirs and Magazines including the Proceedings of North East India History Association. He ahs has also written a number of books containing valuable research based materials.At present, Dr. K. A. Ahmed is working as the Principal of Goalpara College, Goalpara, Assam.
