ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jitendra Prasad

Jitendra Prasad (b. 1955) obtained his Master’s and Research Degree, i.e., M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University. For his M.Phil, he worked with Prof. R.K. Jain. His topic of research was “Peasant Agrarian Tension among the Santhals”. He worked for his Ph.D. with T.K. Oommen on Jharkhand movement. He has contributed over two dozen articles in various professional journals and books. During his research-cum-teaching career for over a quarter century, he has done extensive field work in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana. He has also been associated with about half a dozen project studies on various themes with reputed institutes and academic bodies. Currently, he has been teaching sociology as a Reader in the Deptt. of Sociology, M.D. University, Rohtak.
