Nutrition regulates the physical and mental efficiency of a human being. It is well known that without proper nourishment one can not sustain his/ her life in proper condition. The present study is based on the findings of empirical study of a sample selected from the different geo-economic environments of Kumaun Himalaya. The author has attempted to assess the geo-economic environment, pattern of environmental sanitation, hygiene, dietary, food consumption and nutrition status of particular sample households and villages. Nutrition status has also been computed as per economic level of the society. Several useful suggestions have been given for nutrition and health and nutrition in relation to geo-economic environment is a significant contribution in the field of applied Geography. It would be extremely useful for geographers, sociologists, economist, environmentalists, medical practitioners and regional planners.
