The book encompasses information on stratigraphy, tectonics, geological history and hydrocarbon potential of the well explored petroliferous basins of India. It is an introductory for students interested in geology of India and also intends to address the need as a ready reckoner for the specialists involved in petroleum exploration. This volume is a significant contribution which documents the geological reference frames as the basis for developing strategies for exploration and development and also long term planning of meaningful exploration efforts.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR M S Panwar
Dr. M.S. Panwar is currently Senior Faculty in Department of Geography, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand. His area of research is Natural Resource Management, GIS and Remote Sensing, Micro Level Planning, Watershed Development and Environmental Stadies. Dr. Panwar is author of 26 research papers and two books and supervised 14 Ph.D. students. He has been the Principal Investigator of three major research projects funded by UGC, DST and U-COST.
