The word "Environmentalism" overlaps in the multitude of perspectives on the aspects of the environment that are currently in vogue "greening", "management", "waste minimisation", ethics and justice", "policies and protocols", and "sustainability", just to name a few. The obvious question is "Does the emergence of this new environmental philosophy represent a transformative shift in the basic notions and values that drive corporate behaviour?". The transformational effects of environment–related actions are being visible in the form of corporate environmentalism that goes beyond the bounds of mere local environmental management for compliance. CEOs today are expousing the financial implications of instituting programmes for community relations, product stewardship, pollution prevention and environmental leadership.
