The remittances sent by individuals working in one country to another country form a large volume comparable even to international aids. Recipient countries are quite jubilant over such receipts. The remitting countries are not unhappy, because the remitters have contributed to their economic prosperity. This win-win situation has attracted the attention of the governments, international aid agencies, multilateral funding institutions and also the central banks. The book gives an overview of Global Remittances from the perspective of the remitting and receiving countries, the developmental impact and includes select country studies.
