A stage has reached where no nation can think of reversing the process of globalisation. It has become an instrument of increasing human interdependence. But at the same time, it cannot be ignored that international economic order is being run by the decisions taken by a small number of advanced countries. With this perspective in mind, the study aims to analyse and understand India’s identity as a nation state in the emerging new global village. How in the present process of converting individuals into an internationalist without first being nationalists a balance is possible between sovereignty of nation states?
