The underlying idea of bringing out this books is to highlight the environmental concerns which need to be addressed by the industry for providing sustainable development and also to bring out the various business opportunities in the area of green entrepreneurship which can be taken up by potential entrepreneurs without causing any environmental degradation. The book is divided into three parts. Part I entitled “Basic Issues in Green Entrepreneurship†touches the core issues concerning this area and provide an insight into the basic concept of green entrepreneurship and approaches towards environmental management in industries. Part II of the book entitled “Opportunities in Green Entrepreneurship†discusses in detail about the various business opportunities which are eco-friendly like renewable energy, bio-technology, Eco-tourism etc. Part III of the book is titled as “Researches and Innovations in Green Entrepreneurshipâ€. This part has six research papers which include case studies of stone crushing industry and green marketing. Environmental management system has also been dealt in this section. The book will be an essential reading for small business policy formulators, entrepreneurs, teachers and trainers of green entrepreneurship, environmentalists and students of entrepreneurship and small business.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR D.D. Sharma
Prof. D.D. Sharma (b. 1924) is a renowned scholar of Sanskrit and Linguistics. Besides a PhD in Sanskrit from the Benaras Hindu University, PhD and D.Litt in Linguistics from the Panjab University, Chandigarh - where he served or nearly 28 years - he holds diplomas in French, German and Persian. He also earned the highest Oriental title of Sahityacarya.Prof. Sharma is well acquainted with nearly two dozen Indian and foreign languages and has to his credit 48 research volumes and scores of research papers on the subjects of different languages, cultures and literatures.He was awarded the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship (1984-86) to undertake the linguistic survey of the Himalayan languages from Ladakh in the west to Bhutan in the east.On his retirement (1989), he was awarded Emeritus Fellowship by the UGC for the completion of his 12-volume research project on Himalayan languages, of which 10 volumes have already appeared. He is also working on a 9-volume project on Socio-Cultural History of Uttarakhand, of which 5 volumes have already been published. His ambitious project, Cultural Encyclopaedia of Uttarakhand (5 Vols.) is also under preparation.The present volume is an outcome of the research project for which he was awarded the Indira Gandhi Memorial Fellowship for the years 2001-2003 by IGNCA.

Dr. S.K. Dhameja, Professor in the department of Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Coordination at NITTTR, Chandigarh is a post graduate in Civil Engineering followed by doctorate in Entrepreneurship. At NITTTR, Chandigarh, he is involved in training of Engg. College and Polytechnic teachers, potential entrepreneurs and working professional from industries and is also involved in Curriculum Development, Research and Development, Extension Services and Consultancy work. Dr. S.K. Dhameja is author of two books on Environmental Engineering and Management and Women Entrepreneurs and co-editor of seven books in the area of entrepreneurship. He has a number of continuing education modules, research papers, readers and educational video films to his credit. Dr. Dhameja has presented a number of papers in national and international seminars/conferences. He is UNDP/UNIDO International fellowship holder and life member of Indian Society for Technical Education.
