Guru Hargobind Sahib and his Battles

Born in 1931, Col. A.S. Berar was commissioned into the Indian Army in June 1953.  After serving in various capacities he retired in 1980 and settled in Delhi.  A journey on foot in 1990 from Delhi to Hemkunt, a distance of 500 km, was the inspiration for, and the genesis of, his research on Hemkunt Sahib.  In 1997 he visited Kailash Mansarovar.  Accounts of both yatras have been published in Punjabi.  His other interests include growing cacti, creating bonsais, philately and sculpture.
