The second most significant source of Islamic teaching and divine injunctions, is Hadith or the tradition of Prophet Muhammed (Pbuh). It means the instruction and sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. Also, the practices, he exercised in his life and asked other to do the same. Hadith, is the prime source of Islamic law-including laws on economy and business-after Holy Quran. Islamic law contains comprehensive principles, valid through the ages in respect of the whole of mankind. The importance of the Islamic economic system distinguishes itself from other systems because it is the system which prepares a person for a complete living. The sources of Islamic economics provide that the systems of Islam is much more concerned about human welfare. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Maulana Muhammad Razi Khan Afridi
Maulana Muhammad Razi Khan Afridi, an authority on Islamic Studies and Theology, and an academic and scholar in his own right, is basically a researcher and teacher. A former member of teaching faculty, he has been on foreign tours, especially, Middle East, as a keen observer of Islamic movements, the world over. He is regarded as a think-tank, a liberal-minded, far-sighted and quick-witted personality in the academic circles of Aligarh Muslim University, in particular and outside world in general. He is highly educated, an M.A., M.Th in theology (Islamic religious studies) he is well-versed in English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Hindi. He started his life as a bright student at a Rampur seminary and Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Later on, he joined Aligarh Muslim University and devoted himself, wholeheartedly to the search of knowledge, tirelessly and enthusiastically. He has attended a number of seminars, symposia, academic get-togethers and has won big laurels in and outside India on many occasions. He has some half a dozen books to his credit. This is his latest research-based work on Islam. M.H. Syed, an academic and scholar in his own right, is a seasoned author, with many books to his credit. A prolific writer, he fluently writes on Islamic, academic, political, social, and literary subjects. Highly educated and qualified, he is a trained and experienced journalist, having edited several journals, apart from editing dozens of books. Based in Delhi, he is devoted to research and serious writing on a regular basis. He has constantly contributed to leading newspapers and periodicals, over past several decades. He has also attended conferences, seminars and symposia on a wide scale. Currently, he heads an Academic Bureau and a Research Institution in New Delhi. Among a good number of books to his credit, are included some highly academic works on Islamic Studies. During his research, he has discovered several new dimensions and authentic details, about Islam and its relevance in contemporary world. This is his latest endeavour on the subject, a valuable addition to his earlier works.
