The present book on “Higher Education: Access, Equity and Excellence” is a brilliant academic work having an indepth analysis of higher education, its capability creation domain, equity and excellence contents. The post industrial development, in the globalization era has entered into a different wave length wherein labour demand for work has been reduced via speeding up of mechanical automation and robot system of work culture. Further, the technological push factor working through innovation and thus creating a new knowledge demand for industrial workers in India and elsewhere has produced its worst effects in terms of reduced hour of works for regular wage employment and its worsening effects on conditions and nature of employment. We have as a result of it vast doses of contract employment and a set of new conditionality in terms of training and new knowledge.
