It is a stupendous task to write down every details of all the events, personalities, institutions, culture, organisations, finance and administration of Orissa since the 1 April, 1936. Out of the widest diversity of events and facts, much care has been taken to sort out the guiding events and to present before you a graphic scenario of Orissa State. Many important events, facts and personalities have deliberately been omitted because it is increasingly difficult to accommodate all the events of long 64 years in a single volume. This book is not the product of strenuous research works but the author has put enormous energy, rapt attention and severe sincerity to articulate and assimilate the divergent events and facts of modern Orissa for many years and has tried his best to present before the innumerable anxious readers of the world about the glittering image and a comprehensive history of modern Orissa, which was in dire need from the last decade.
