History of Tamil Nadu: The Palayams

The present publication shows how the individuals, Palayams, made tremendous sacrifice to achieve their goals. The series of events which followed in the Southern District of Ramnad, Madurai and Thirunulveli may be collectively called the Palaiyagar rebellion, since the events are mostly their rising against the collecting authority of the English. The perpetual warfare all over the region left no room for any profitable social activity. This book highlights the socio-economic and political conditions of the people.
