I started learning house-keeping as a child from everyone around me. I was fascinated by the tiffin that students brought to school; even the simple placement of chapatti and sabzi fascinated me. I was enchanted with the way some ladies created wonders from the available resources. For example, they did crochet around a small piece of cloth, and very soon it looked a beautiful table mat nothing short of a master piece! This book is the essence of over two decades of my experiments, insights, and explorations to save time, yet, manage my home efficiently. I want to share these time-tested tips with all so that I can bring smile on the face of home makers’. Happy Housekeeping, Chandrama Majumdar was born on 17th July ’73 in south Calcutta, now Kolkata. She lives with her family and two sons in Navi Mumbai. She did Post-graduate in Economics from Calcutta University. She started her career with a NGO in Delhi. She then did a few freelancing projects as well as worked with a Management Consultancy Firm for a few years. Chandrama later got married and blessed with two sons. She is a caring mother and dedicates herself to rear up her kids. It was during that period, she discovered her passion for writing though she couldn’t pursue it due to paucity of time. But that did not deter her spirit and resolve. She got a degree in teaching from Mumbai University so that she could fulfil her dream in teaching and writing. Now, she is teaching Economics in the higher grades for Cambridge curriculum in a school of repute in Nerul (Navi), Mumbai. Her other field of interests are dance and listening to Rabindra Sangeet.
