It is very ironical, that in 21 century when we are much more advance in science, we are talking about human rights. The writer, rightly quoted the lines of Russian peasant :- We know how to fly like birds in sky we know how to swim like fish in water. But we don’t know how to walk like human being on earth. That is the cause, for that literature on human rights is the need of era. The writer very nicely selected the topics of this book. She is an eminent writer on various subjects and known since last 40 years for the writings. She started the book on human rights from the Vedic period. This is a new thing for me and may be for the readers also that the words human right first seen in Vedic period, that have no pre-history. She quoted Shlokas about human rights in very beginning, and then came to the origin of modern human right movement in second chapter. After elaborating the world human right movement, she came to this movement in India in chapter III. There is a full chapter on our constitution. Being a lawyer she started the IV chapter with the enforcement of legal procedure for inhuman victims, and for guidelines she mentioned some case laws. Thus the book is very useful not only in legal sphere, but for academic field also, and above all the common public who is the sufferer of inhuman behaviour.
