From the preface: "This monograph aims to treat the freedom movement in Jammu & Kashmir State from 1931 to 1947 on ideological basis. It was a long felt desire on my part to fill in this gap. Though some attempts had already been made to write on the subject but still much remained to be done. The present work is, therefore, a humble attempt to bridge the wider gulf with a view to bring to light various aspects of ideological content and substance of the movement.
