This book tries to examine the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on macroeconomic variables having a bearing on competitiveness in India in the context of Indian companies. Looking at the relationship between the FDI and the factors affecting competitiveness at the economy level, it makes a critical assessment of the FDI inflow in the companies and their competitiveness as reflected by financial ratios in the companies that experienced FDI flows.
It also discusses at length theoretical framework of FDI and global competitiveness. The study has used granger-causality test and regression analysis to the impact of FDI on the factors determining competitiveness at the economy and firm levels.
