India’s increasing engagement in the international economy has created a growing awareness that multilateral trade negotiations can and must be used to serve development goals. At the same time, India is a developing economy of key importance in the World Trade Organizations, and it played a pivotal role in the negotiation and design of the Doha development agenda.
