This compendium of twelve papers, presented at an international seminar, jointly organized by the Centre for East Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Shobi University, Saitama, attempts to examine the different aspects of India-Japan relations, in the context of rapidly changing regional environment.
It discusses at length the relationship between the two countries in the context of a rising China, the nature of problems between Japan and China, the possibility of trilogue between India, Japan and the US to limit China’s growing influence, prospects and challenges for expanding India-Japan economic relations, and the problems of youth employment in both the countries. A comparative analysis of Japan and America’s India policy also finds place in the discussion.
