ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lt. Gen. R.K. Jasbir Singh
Lt. Gen. (Retd.) R.K. Jasbir Singh, PVSM, has served with the Neutral Nations Repatriation Commission in Korea and United Nations in Congo. He has been in action in all the wars fought since Independence. In 1971, he commanded 191 Infantry Brigade, which bore the brunt of the Pakistani offensive in the Western Sector. Later, he commanded 15 Corps in Jammu & Kashmir. He retired as the Military Secretary, Army HQ in 1983. He was Colonel of the Jat Regiment for 10 Years. Lt. Gen. R.K. Jasbir Singh writer regularly for defence journals. He is an elected member of the USI council. He is a keen angler and is actively involved in community development and animal welfare programmes.
