India is now regarded as one of the best performing emerging market countries capable of sustaining rapid growth over the next two decades, provided appropriate policies are put in place to deal with existing constraints on growth. This has created a favourable impression amoung foreign investors though there are complanits still about the ease of doing business. Most of the major international companies are now operating in India and many have announced ambitious expansion plans.
