Indian English Drama: A Study in Myths

This book aims at analysing critically the use of myths in Indian English Drama. It makes a serious and meticulous attempt to study exhaustively how myths have added to the meaning and significance of Indian English Drama and how drama dealing with myths and legends has been instrumental in propagating India’s cultural heritage, philosophical systems, religious thinking, political understanding, and social values. Also, it examines how far the playrights have succeeded in presenting the themes and characters from the Greek, Roman, Scandinavian and Indian mythologies in modern perspective with certain positively convincing digressions.
