ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ravi S. Singh

Dr. Ravi S. Singh (b. 1971) has got training in Geography mainly at Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi, UP) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi). He took active part in many national and international seminars/conferences. Dr. Ravi has published papers/books reviews in National Geographical Journal of India, annals of NAGI, Gandhian Perspectives, Journal of Geography, North-Eastern Geographer (Guwahati) etc. and also in the research publication series of Gotenberg University (Sweden) and South Asian Institute (Heidelberg, Germany). He has been the founder Head, Dept. of Geography, Rang-Farah Govt. College (Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh) where he served during 1996-2001. He is associated with the New York State Independent Colleges Consortium for study in India, NYSICCSI and the International Research forum, IRF on SAARC (Tokyo, Japan) as a Full Member. He has also been consultant to a major project (Dept. of Culture, GOI) on the Tangsa tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. Main areas of the author’s interest are varied aspects of Development, Social/cultural Geography, Geographic Thought. And Environment. Presently, he is on the faculty of PG Department of Geography, Kisan PG College, Bahraich (UP).
