Indian Muslims and Crime

It has been observed that among the Muslims themselves as well as the Muslims v/s. the other communities, the cases of murder, rape, extortion and violence are very common. It is for the sociologists of India to work out as to how the crime among the Muslims is affecting the social dynamics of the Indian Society. This book has been prepared with the help of the press clippings in which crime among Muslims has been reported as well as the cases decided by the various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Some of the movements are in fact very dangerous like the Students Islamic Movement of India in which the Muslim students are being prepared as an army to fight for their rights. Though this organisation has been banned by the Govt. of India but it is again surfacing in bigger states like U.P., Kerala and other states under the different names. This movement is likely to generate violence among the masses. It may lead to very dangerous situation in which it will be difficult to control the Hindu-Muslim Unity. In four states especially of the north and two-states of the south the crime rate is very significant among the Muslims of India. It has been tried to bring in objectivity in the analysis to the data which has been based on the Judgement of the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India and the reports published in various newspapers of India. The Union Home Ministry maintains the records of crime in the country. On the basis of analysis of the Home Ministry the author has tried to compile matter from various sources and analysed it accordingly. There is greater scope for improving the book on the basis of further data which can be made available in due course of time.
