This volume covers the first revisionary work on Indian Tenthredo after Malaise 1945. To the hitherto very scanty and fragmentary informations i.e. only about 70 species and subspecies contributed by various taxonomists from the Indian subcontinent, 126, species have been added in the form of new as well as first record from the faunistic limits of India. So, this volume deals with 196 species/subspecies (new as well as first record) are contributed by Saini and his co-workers during the last 25 years. This contribution is an outcome of an extensive and intensive collection surveys of all high altitude localities situated along the entire Himalayan Belt and the Hills of North-Eastern States. By providing detailed identification key, elaborate catalogue and good number of illustrations (particularly those dealing with genitalia), this work not only compiles the hitherto scattered information on the taxonomic records of this genus, it also lays a very solid and stable foundation for the future Sawfly workers intending to explore different aspects of these insects. The author hopes, with this reference work at their disposal, the future Sawfly workers of this region will be able to contribute tremendously in this field.
