The Indians in News, which is intended to be an annual publication, is a source of information on those men and women of India who created news or were in news for certain reasons during the year. A majority of seekers of information are interested only in those who are active and kicking—the persons who are the cause of happenings and are participating in matters that are significant. But the society is dynamic and things are changing fast. Men and matters do share this phenomenon. Persons who were unknown yesterday have come to limelight today. Some create history, others cause controversies, win honours commit frauds, get accused , change places, get promoted, serve the society, kill or get killed or simply pass away. Information seekers want to know the latest. The Indians in News serves this purpose because it is a biographical dictionary of those Indians who are currently in the news, and are relevant to the present times. The Indians in News includes persons reported or discussed in such newspapers or journals as the Tribune, Times of India, Indian Express. Hindustan Times, India Today, The Outlook, The Week, competition Success Review, etc. The Indians in News, 2002 consists of two parts. Part I consists of records of persons in news, arranged systematically in an alphabetical order by their surnames. Under the name of the person is given the summary of the events because of which the person was in news. A brief biographical note is also added where warranted. The source of information is also given so that the newspaper or journal reporting the news is easily accessed by the researchers. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ajay Prasher
Dr. Ajay Prasher is at present Asst. Professor in Business Management at the Appeejay Institute of Management, Jalandhar. He is also a Director of CII TDB TNET. He did his doctorate from GNDU, Amritsar. Marketing and Strategic Management, are his fields of specialization. He has already published a book on Strategic Marketing and has contributed a number of papers to Indian Journals.

Rajeev Prasher is a Lecturer in the Dept. of Business Management of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri. He holds MBA degree from Sagar University. Presently he is also doing his Ph.D. in Business Management. Basically a researcher, a number of his papers on Management Education have already been published.
