This book entitled "India’s Human Rights Regime" presents a complete picture of contemporary human rights instruments in India, thus placing its legal foundations and implementation mechanism for global evaluation. Section A of this book deals with India’s most basic and direct human rights legislations, including the ones incorporated in the Indian Constitution in the form of fundamental rights duties and directive principles of state policy; its part III, IV and article 21 being the most important and relevant. The Protection of Human Rights Act, responsible for creation of National Human Commission, is presented. Section B of this book is devoted to "Issue Specific Human Rights Legislations". The last section of this book, Section C, is about the upcoming human rights bills, thereby indicating about the issues and options India has for near future consideration. Therefore, Section C presents the readers with an outline of the new Indian Prisons Bill as proposed by the NHRC; and the new Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill.
