Developments in Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) have opened up new approaches and avenues for social and economic development. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Uma Joshi

Dr. Uma Joshi is Professor in the Dept. of Extension and Communication, The MS University of Baroda, Vadodara. A Ph. D. in Extension and Communication her career spans over 32 years. A profile writer, she has authored eight books, forty research articles and fourteen other articles besides several booklets and handbooks. She has completed sixteen projects sponsored by various national/international agencies. Besides several media productions she has wide administrative experience. Her areas of specialization are media production, media studies, ageing and development communication.
