Integrated Pest Management: Adoption and Its Impact on Agriculture

The book ‘Integrated Pest Management : Adoption and its Impact on Agriculture’ is about the implementation and impact of National IPM programme through farmers’ field schools – a recent concept based on the principle of facilitation of farmers for their empowerment. In the Indian context, a lot of literature on the content area of IPM is available but not much has been written on the extension methodology and the adoption of IPM practices at farmer’s level. The book in particular will serve the agencies associated with the implementation of Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO’s) ‘Inter country Programme for Development and Application of IPM in Rice in South and South-East Asia’ and in general the scientists associated with IPM Programme in one way or the other. At post-graduate level the students will find the book as a useful guide for planning and conducting future research on IPM- farmers’ field schools.
