Yoga virtually meant the union with the infinite existence, force and bliss. As is generally recognised, Yoga is not a physical culture only or a part thereof.

Yoga is an interior research where the researcher becomes the subject himself as well as the laboratory. It is a false notion that one has to renounce the world to practice this science. A vast literature is available. There are many sects and schools of Yoga. A plethora of Gods and God men have flourished all over the world to teach, preach and practice Yoga. No doubt, they are the exponents of truth. Every truth however true in itself, yet taken apart from others, which at once limit and complete it, become a sham to the intellect and a misleading dogma. For in reality, each is one thread of a complete weft and no thread must be taken apart from the weft. This international Encyclopaedia of Yoga and occultism attempts to put together the whole weft. It is an upward endeavor to present such a complex weft before the seekers, teachers and the students of the subject.

There is also a futuristic perspective in this compilation. While giving due place to the traditional schools of Yoga, more emphasis is on its current and futuristic trends especially, the Yoga of integral consciousness, in which the complete truth can be comprehended at one go; The Yoga of human cells, which can create a super matter and the macro or collective Yoga, vis-a-vis individual Yoga are dealt with greater length.
