ABOUT THE AUTHOR Siddhartha Ray
Dr. Siddhartha Ray graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 1968. He did his Master of Mechanical Engineering in Production Engineering in the year 1971 and got his Ph.D. in Engineering in 1976, both from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
Dr. Ray served more than 30 years in various industries at various levels up to the position of Executive Director of a public limited company. He was primarily involved in design and development of various Machineries & Systems and in executing Turnkey Projects mainly in the fields of Rolling Mills, Steel Plant Equipment and Converting Machineries including various Material Handling Plant and Equipment. He obtained two Indian patents and was credited for design of number of Plants and Machineries for the first time in the country. He visited different foreign countries during his professional career.
Dr. Ray joined his present Institution, i.e., National Institute of Technical Teachers` Training & Research, Kolkata as Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department in 2001 where he is conducting M.Tech. course in Manufacturing Technology. Dr. Ray, presently, is the Director-in-Charge of National Institute of Technical Teachers` Training & Research, Kolkata.
