ABOUT THE AUTHOR Obaidullah Fahad

Dr. Obaidullah Fahad is a senior faculty member in Islamic Studies of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He completed three projects on “Concept of Shura in Islam”, “Theory of Hakimiyah in Islamic Polity” and “Islamic Theory of Khilafah” under IOS New Delhi. He played a leading role in an academic project jointly sponsored by the Muslim World League, Makkah and International Islamic Federation of the Students Organizations, Kuwait in order to analyse the socio-cultural situation of the Chinese Muslims. For that purpose he visited in 1990 China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia respectively. He is member of Majlis Talimi (Academic Council) and Majlis al-Shura (Executive Council) of Jamiatul Falah (The Islamic Seminary at Azamgarh), and the author of more than two dozen book in Urdu and English languages. Apart from organizing ten seminars, he has participated with scholarly papers in more than fifty conferences/seminars and contributed more than hundred articles in the journals of national and international repute. His books include: Principles of Diplomacy in Islam, Islamic Revivalism: An Approach Study and Islamic Polity and Orientalists.
