B.M.C. Nayar is an established novelist in the highly competitive State of Kerala in India. Among the nine novels he has written in Malayalam, KALIKA remains the most critically acclaimed and best received by the public. It was made into a hit movie by Padmasri Bharat Balachandra Menon in 1980 after serialisation in Kunkumam Weekly in 1977 which almost doubled in circulation. Restuarants, Bars and even a Sewing school were christened KALIKA in its wake.
