Khaki Shadows: Pakistan 1947-1997

Pakistan was born as a result of a political, legal and constitutional struggle for Independence, the object of which was to enable the Muslims of the subcontinent to live in a free and democratic order. However, with the death of the founding father, the nation soon lost its moorings and drifted into an era of political and Military dictatorship. Khaki Shadows vividly portrays the role of the army in the politics of Pakistan from its earliest years, and demonstrates how the intermix of political and military forces created difficulties for both, and damaged national prestige.
