This work projects Kulasekara Alwar, the Vishnu devotee as one of the Makers of Indian Literature. Many of his songs are poingnant and emotionally charged, such as his craving to see Sri Renganatha, his unique craze towards His devotees, his obsession to be born as some object in Tiruvengadam, the excitement to grasp His Lordly Feet, the pining for Lord Krishna by becoming a gopika, Divine Devaki's pangs of having lost the childish pranks of Kaman and teh throb of Dasaratha a his son leaves for the forest. Hence, he is able to touch easily the pinnacle of poetry. He might have lost the royal crown by renouncing the Chera Kingdom. But, the readers who study this work can well-understand, that as a recompense the Crown of Poetry intuitively adorns his head and that he remains as a poet par excellence.
