J.N. Mohanty is Professor of Philosophy at Temple University, Philadelphia, and Woodruff Professor of Philosophy and Asian Studies at Emory University, Georgia, USA. His many books include Reason and Tradition in Indian Philosophy (1992) and The Self and Its Other: Philosophical Essays (2000).

Sandhya Basu, (b. 1943) is Professor of Philosophy at Rabindra Bharati University. She has published articles in journals including Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research, Journal of the Indian Academy of Philosophy and in the anthology The Philosophy of P.F. Strawson (ICPR, 1995) edited by P.K. Sen and R.R. Verma.
