This book is an introductory work to library classification and to the elements of colon classification. It explains the objectives and restraints of library classification and shows how the CC scheme best meets these needs. This work, in part or whole, would be useful for the study of the development of library classification and/or colon classification. This work is a "scrambled textbook", intended for giving readers a practical hands on course in using the colon classification scheme. The book is a form of workbook, presenting problems to be worked out and leading the reader to different areas of instruction depending on their ability to correctly finish the exercise.
