There are users, of course, who would like to have a view of a particular Indian LIS journal in its totality, or access the information in the subject of their interest reported in that particular journal. In view of the need and desirability, a bibliographical and bibliometric study has been undertaken in respect of a much respected and reputed periodical, the Library Science with Slant to Documentation and Information Studies. The study consists of four parts: Bibliometric part investigates various characteristics of subject literature, both literature cited and literature produced by the researchers. The analysis of literature is from various angles. Review of literature part gives the contents of the papers published in this journal, bringing out new innovations and interpretations. This part has various well-defined segments so as to show the development and progress made in each. Bibliography part gives total output of the library science. The literature on the same subject hitherto lying scattered in various volumes has thus been brought together in a logical order in one sequence. The references have been classified according to a specially designed depth schedule. Two indexes – subject and author – have been provided to facilitate the use of this book. The serial number of the reference in the bibliography part is used as a location symbol in the review part as also in the indexes. The originality of the thought contents and quality of literature reported in the library science, makes this book quite useful for the students, teachers, and researchers of LIS.
