Focusing on the third book in the series of books constituting the four Christian gospels, this volume shows that Luke’s gospel presents Jesus’ life which can be used to renew the lives of Christians today. Contrasting the believers in the time of Luke and in our own time, this work uses the text of gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles to renew the family and ‘Philautus’, a pseudonym of our time that means lover of self who is totally self-centred. It explores the social context, location and condition of Luke-Acts, the communal paradigm in Luke-Acts, the actualisation of Luke-Acts and their inculturation. It presents a gospel listening experience ministry of the Lucan texts, subdividing the Lucan texts for the purpose and providing notes and commentaries for them.
