Non-Profit Organisations perform a pivotal role in economic growth and development of the community. Their role in education (schools, training, research, consultation, national resources conservation) and community services (health services, social services, recreation, libraries, arts) are instrumental in supplying capital and critical inputs for certain community populations. Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) contribute to the community by stimulating employment, income and social output and also developing a better skilled manpower service. Non-profit institutions need "management" all the more because they do not have a conventional "bottom line". They need to learn how to use management as their tool so that they can concentrate on their mission and objectives. With this in view, this book contains different role for leadership and innovative concepts in management for success of non-profit institutions. There is ‘management boom’ in non-profit institutions. The objective of this book is to address the key areas of functioning for Non-Profit Organisations, from clarifying the concept of Non-Profit Organisation and to pursue the mission and then to manage such type of organisation. The book has a very comprehensive coverage and it will serve as a concise guide on wide range of concepts that are relevant in the context of Non-Profit Organisations. As a pioneering Indian book on the subject it will be very useful to students, teachers and practicing managers in Non-Profit Organisations.
