ABOUT THE AUTHOR D.K. Chatterjee
Mr. Dhirendra Kumar Chatterjee, born on 25th September 1937 is retired Senior Scientist, Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneshwar-751002, Orissa, India. He joined the Pond Culture Division of Central Inland Fisheries Institute presently Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture in 1957 and worked under different capacities till retirement in 1997. He is having experience of more than thirty years in the field of improvement of unproductive tropical freshwater fishponds for enhanced production through suitable management measures and the impact on pond environment under long-term practice.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Adhikari
Dr. Subhendu Adhikari, born on 1st January 1966 is Senior Scientist, Aquaculture Production and Environment Division, Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneshwar-751002, Orissa, India, His major research contributions are development of protocol for enhancement of pond productivity through efficient use of macro and micronutrients for sustainable aquaculture production and development of nutrient budgets for carp culture practices. He is also an expert in the field of pollution management of contaminated water bodies for aquaculture as regards to heavy metals & pesticides and assessment of quality of fish produced by organic inputs. He has more than 40 research papers in various reputed international and national journals to his credit. He has received several awards and honours including Dr. B.C. Deb memorial award Soil/Physical Chemistry by Indian Science Congress-2005 and the XII International Congress Commemoration award by Indian Society of Soil Science-2007, ICAR award for outstanding team research as member of team for the Biennium-2001-02..He has successfully completed many project pertaining to fishpond environment management and is presently handling several other such projects.
