Maritime India: Ports and Shipping

This book is a comprehensive work on all the important issues in the infrastructural sector of port and shipping in India. In the perspective of economic development of the country, the transport sector particularly relating to major, intermediate and minor ports, and inland water transport has been extensively covered. The other related issues like privatisation, maritime law and containerisation have been dealt with. Five year and Annual Plans relating to this sector and the studies of different committees have been analysed. Special attention has been given to highlight the environmental issues connected with development projects in this sector. This is the first book of this type in the country.
