Medicinal Plants

Based on extensive field surveys and direct interaction with the local tribal populations of the region, this book presents a comprehensive account of the medicinal plants of the Meghalaya state in north east India, and their traditional uses. The book enumerates alphabetically more than 590 species of medicinal plants with details covering Indian names, scientific name, name of the family, plant description, flowering and fruiting, distribution, propagation, parts used, chemical constituents, and medicinal uses. Other highlights of the book are: about 900 b/w and colour photographs, a subject index, identification of endangered species, and an extended list of references.
