Mental Retardation and Social Responsibility

In recent decades, there has been a focusing of scientific interest on the field of mental retardation. This focus has brought as to the brink of a new era, in which scientific developments can find their full expression in public health practice. Mentally retarded children and persons face enormous problems in their daily lives. The attitude of society towards them is mixed, sympathetic, asympathetic, kind and callous all. This book tries to study the various facets of mental retardation and social responsibility towards them. It is hoped that this book will prove useful to all social researchers, social scientists and NGOs working for mentally retarded and artistic persons.
