Nowadays most of the homoeopathic physicians treated their patients by polypharmacy or mixed medicine in any curable case. As a result, palliation at best is achieved, rather than cure. We should know that all diseases are not curable. There is also limitation in homoeopathy. But in curable cases we should follow the principles of homoeopathy, propounded by Hahnemann. To treat the chronic disease successfully, it is not enough if the remedy is selected only on symptom similarity basis. Besides the similarity in symptoms, there must be a similarity of miasms also. That is to say, the remedy selected must also be miasmatic. So in truest sense, a medicine is to be selected on the basis of constitutional peculiarities (psoric, sycotic, syphilitic) along with individualistic features of the person concerned. A physician who has been in practice but has no knowledge of miasms cannot eliminate the deep-seated chronic diseases. In this little book I have tried my best to identify the different miasmatic states—psora, syphilis, sycosis and pseudo-psora.
