This book is a story of tender and cruel human and social values, which has been woven around the life and times of an Indian intelligence agent. It is not another spy thriller. The political and social ambiences depicted in the book have also been woven around the echoes of history though all the characters are fictitious. Any resemblance is accidental. The real life agent did actually marry a wonderful Pakistani girl and raised a family. However, he was neutralized and incarcerated in Pakistani jails. His mother still waits for him, somewhere in Rajasthan. The author was inspired to chronicle this story after perusing a bunch of letter that he had managed to smuggle out to his mother and some accounts of his life shared by the silently suffering lady. He had tried to portray with literary liberty, the pathos of this tragic hero and the arrow of time that he walked past.
